Westankärr estate
Westankärr estate dates back to the 1620s, when it was owned by Count Axel Oxenstierna, Councillor of State. One of the most fasci-nating events in the history of the estate was the battle of Westankärr in 1808 during the Swedish–Russian war.
Today the Westankärr estate is owned by Ann-Caroline and Mårten Forss. The main crops grown on the estate include grain, rapeseed, sugar beet as well as forests. Sheep farming was introduced in 2005 and there is currently a 150-head flock. Westankärr lamb can be bought on the estate.
